Tokyo gourmet emperor/German cars for life/Dan beste, oder nichtsWearing strong scented perfume when visiting Sushi and Kappou restaurants serving high quality fish is an example of bad manners. The delicate smell of fish is destroyed by the scent of perfume.

chief editor, TokyoTableTripThis may not be exactly counter manners but “no-show” is becoming a huge problem as well. Sushi Arai, introduced in this guide, said that because of increased number of no-shows, they have no choice but to limit the number of reservations they take from tourists. It is such an unfortunate situation that some tourists’ bad manners are reflected upon all the other guests losing a chance to visit the restaurant.

chief editor, TokyoTableTripTaking pictures of chefs without permission is also bad manners. Photos taken without notice may not appropriately reflect chefs’ best work, and many chefs hate their unauthorized photos being spread among SNS.
