Hi! Is there any recommended yakiniku in Matsumoto? thank you

Leo Saito
Matsumoto is known more for jingisukan (grilled mutton) than for yakiniku.
This place is highly recommended!

Justin, i think someone posted on reddit.
Summary below: Nigiri are medium sized, with well-prepared neta and shari with a soft komezu punch. I didn't feel there was an overpowering taste of vinegar. Rather, it was quite balanced in my opinion. I recently visited Sushi Ao, and I honestly preferred Kawaguchi-san's meal.

Hey Justin, this is KK (somehow I can't log in anymore!)
I'm going in a couple days, I'll try to let you know it is esp. compared to Ao ;)

Similar thought as guest above but personally I don't like his つまみ. Very plain and lack of taste. Nigiri were better so recommend to try nigiri only course.
Another point is there is a UK lady there so there is no issue even you cannot speak Japanese at all.

IG: SushisibzThanks for the feedback, guys! @KK - hope you're doing well!!

So, my personal take after visiting for lunch (nigiri only). They are still ramping-up, with half seat capacity (4:8) and there can be a few minor mishaps in the service. You could tell Kawaguchi-san was sometimes a bit nervous (especially at the beginning). Nevertheless atmosphere was very relaxed and chill. In a few weeks it should all be 100% smooth. Regarding sushi, rice-vinegar shari shined most with maguro and hikarimono, but overpowered/imbalanced the shiromi IMO. If you compare to Ao, the execution overall is just not as precise yet, but the sushi still delicious overall. I'll want to go again to see how it evolves.
Okami and staff are from the UK so it makes it very foreigner friendly.

IG: Sushisibz@KK - glad to hear this. Sounds like it has great potential and will be popular with non-Japanese speakers too in the future. Thanks for sharing!

Does anyone know what Tabete Level means on the Omakase website? I ended up getting a Level 14 (after booking 7 restaurants), but I have no idea if there are any benefits to that or what that entails. The website is not really clear. I'm just wondering whether it is actually worth trying to maintain or just letting it go back down to 0 since I'm not going to be back in Japan in the next 6 months.

I am now at level 43, everything looks the same with me and I honestly don't observe any advantage over booking.

Invite-only Gold level gets you invitations to some restaurants but other than that it's all nonsense.

IG: danielfromhkWas over 100 and a paying Premium member and it did nothing. Being Premium only real benefit is you get notification when there are cancellations. But there are others who get alerts ahead of Premium members so when you click in even instantaneously, someone else will get the reservation

thank you everyone!

How is Sushi Saito. Is it worth the money?
Same question with Sushi Arai.
I also booked Hatsunezushi. What are the thoughts on that?

Hi all, has anyone been to yorozu hanare and how does it compares to other shops? Or even yorozu in particular?

Leo Saito
The vibe may be casual, but the sushi concept is the same as Yorozu.
The rice is firm and on the sour side.
Great value for money and extremely satisfying.

guest
Sounds great! Thanks, will give it a go.
